I did it! This morning I finished my newsletter for my unit plan. The children wrote their own newsletter on what they liked about the party. I had already done the rubrics for my lessons. I found several neat websites including money instructor and u.s. mint for games and worksheets for the students. This was a good experience for me. I learned about blackflips.com to save my favorites and create folders for all my subject areas and I can bring up my favorites where ever I go. I am still learning about wikis.

Student Samples
Today, I worked on my student samples which are the Powerpoint presentation and the newsletter for my unit. The powerpoint went very well. However I got stuck with the newsletter and how to write it from the child's point of view. I was hoping to have enough information, but I am finding it difficult to fill up a newsletter with information. I hope tomorrow will shed light on this situation.
Unit Plan Finished
It's Our Party is just about finished. Yesterday, I typed my assessment procedures and found the computer did not save it. Ugh! I am glad I am a fast typist. Instructional Procedures is what took me the longest to finish. Now I am ready to do my student samples of powerpoint and newsletter.

Intel July 21, 2008 (Modules 1 &2)
Today is the first day of our Intel technology class. We worked on the introductory modules today. We set up files, and created our blog website. Yes, I am the Finchbird. I'm having fun learning how to create unit plans for my special education students for the upcoming school year. I am really excited about this and all that I am going to learn.

My Mission Opportunity
I will be going to New Orleans to help rebuild homes next week. This will be an interesting experience for me since I have not built homes before. I will be on the dry wall team. We have been promised time in the French Quarter. I went there pre-Katrina and I hear there is a difference since post-Katrina.
